Welcome to Movies By Jill

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved going to the movies. Whether they were good, bad or in between, I enjoyed the time experiencing each and every one. Even as an over worked CFO, I made time to see 100s of movies. Many of my lunch hours were spent in dark theatres eating popcorn and being entertained. Now that I’m retired I see most movies that make it to the theatre each year. I attend several film festivals in Dallas each year and occasionally make one out of town. As a member of the Dallas Film Society and the USA Film Festival, I attend pre-screenings of movies each month. I also screen movies each year for the Independent Spirit Awards. Family and friends are constantly asking what movies I’ve seen and are sometimes interested in my thoughts and opinions. They’ve encouraged me for years to create a movie blog, so I’m giving it a shot for 2014. Enjoy the reviews and my rankings, and let me know what you think. But mostly, get out and enjoy some movies!
