It is five years later and the Vikings and Dragons are living together in harmony. The Vikings no longer manufacture weapons but leather saddles and other dragon gear.  They have turned their homeland into a peaceful and animal friendly place. Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his dragon, Toothless, have become explorers. They travel as far as the eye can see and are attempting to map out the universe as they discover it, even though Hiccup's father, Stoick (Gerard Butler) would rather he assume the duties of Chief of the people. Unfortunately, on one of their excursions, they make a terrible discovery. They run into Drago (Djimon Hounsou) who has been kidnapping all of the dragons and turning them into fighters. Hiccup also makes another discovery that will change his life forever. He is forced to become the man that his father wants him to be. Hiccup must gather the people and their dragons and together they must fight for their homeland.

I loved this movie. It is beautiful. It is funny and smart and the animation is just terrific. When the dragons are flying, the scenery is incredible. I loved the way the water rippled when the dragons flew over it. The movie is also a little dark and emotional. There is a tighknit family feel to this movie and you forget that you are watching an animated movie. I was drawn right into the story. I think the sequel lives up to the original. If you are an animal lover like me, this movie will definitely touch you. Go see it!!
