August "Auggie" Pullman (Jacob Tremblay) has always been home-schooled by his mom Isabel (Julia Roberts). You see he was born with severe facial deformities and his family has never wanted to subject him to the ridicule and bullying of kids his age. But, Auggie's parents Isabel and Nate (Owen Wilson) feel that it is time for Auggie to face his biggest fears and go to regular school. Auggie is nervous and shy as he starts school. And, he is subjected to ridicule by the school bully. But, he also makes some new and awesome friends. Together, they face the world and soon learn about tolerance, kindness and acceptance. Afterall, as Auggie's sister Via (Izabela Vidovic) says, you can't blend in when you were born to stand out.

Based on the best-selling book, this is a warm, feel-good movie for the holiday season. It will make you laugh and cry. Auggie is such a great kid and you can't help but root for him as he figures out how to navigate a world where no one looks like him. Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson add light touches to the film. They are both perfect. Jacob Tremblay is fantastic. He is proving to be quite the young actor. The Husband and I both loved this film. It is a perfect family movie. It is entertaining and touching. You will walk out of the theatre happy that you saw this film. So, go see it.
