Runs 90 minutes

This is the story of a loveable dachshand dog, who is passed along to different owners and his observations on the lives of these different people.

Sounds good right? Especially if you like dogs. Wrong. All of the people in this film are unlikeable for various reasons. None of them should own a dog. The movie is told in four parts with an intermission. Yes, an intermission. And, the intermission was the best part of the film - very creative and cute. The dog was great. A half star just for the dog. Supposedly, it was the same dog in all four parts but it never made sense to me how the dog got from owner 2 to owner 3 after the intermission. Anyway, that is the least of the problems with this film. The humans were awful. They mistreat this poor pup and then it gets even worse. I really didn't like this film. I have liked Todd Solondz' other films in the past but this one just hit me the wrong way. If you are an animal lover, then skip this for sure. If you really like indie films that don't really go anywhere (with a good cast including Greta Gerwig, Danny DeVito and Ellen Burstyn), then this might be for you. I don't really recommend this one.
