Runs 106 minutes

Andrew (Miles Teller) enrolls at a prestigious music school. He hopes to become one of the greats, practicing his drums until his fingers bleed. Eventually, he is accepted into the famed studio music band conducted by Terence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons). Little did Andrew know how demanding this would turn out to be. Will he be able to survive the pressure and near torture that Fletcher inflicts on his students? Is this worth the cost to his pride and self-respect as Fletcher will stop at nothing to get perfection from his students?

This is one of my favorite movies so far this year. It definitely has some of the best acting so far this year. There isn't a lot of action but you can sure feel the tension. Miles Teller is rumored to have practiced the drums up to four hours a day for this role. Some of the blood on his hands is probably real! He is great in this role and your heart just aches for him. And, J.K. SImmons (known for State Farm commercials and smaller roles) is a revelation. He gives an Oscar-worthy performance. This is not a feel good movie. Simmons, as Fletcher, is brutal in his attempts to get everything and more out of his students. There is plenty of bad language to go around. But, I still thought it was fantastic! Go see it.
