This is Michael Moore's latest documentary, where he "invades" various countries to learn what they do well. He lands in Italy to find that they get more vacation in one year than Americans get probably ever. He visits prison in Finland where the prisoners swim, ride bikes and have access to weapons. Then, he heads to Slovenia, where college is free for everyone, including Americans. And, apparently it is the best education you can get and they teach in English! Who needs free college in the USA, just go to Slovenia. He hits a few other places and points out various other interesting tidbits, as well.

This is definitely one of Michael Moore's lighter films. He doesn't hate on America the whole time and there was only one George W. Bush slam. I am not a fan of his and his rumpled, grungy everyman approach. Nacho Kim and I talked back to the movie an awful lot. (Luckily, we were the only people in the theatre. Not a promising sign for the movie, though.) We felt that the movie was pretty slanted. For the most part, he visited small, homogeneous countries (Finland, Iceland) and never depicted poverty, violence or other issues that I'm sure even exist in Slovenia. All of the prisoners in the Finland prison were happy and friendly (and murderers and rapists, too!) But, this wonderful prison treated them like human beings. Why did they murder or commit crime in the first place? Probably, to go to the country club prison. Anyway, If you are a fan of Michael Moore, you will probably love this movie. If you don't like him, then you will want to talk back to the screen just like us. Save your money and see something else.
