Zac Efron is Cole, an aspiring DJ living with his somewhat scheming friends in the San Fernando Valley. All they want is to make it somehow and move from the Valley to a more hip address. They work as promoters at a club called Social where Cole DJ's for free drinks. He is discovered by James (Wes Bentley), a popular DJ who helps to mentor him. Along the way, he is attracted to Sophie (Emily Ratajkowski) but she is James' girlfriend and that leads to major conflict. And, as Cole becomes more serious about his music, there is a lot more friction between him and his less inspired friends. A tragedy forces them all to re-evaluate what is really important in life.

This is a so-so movie. I like Zac Efron and I thought he did a decent job. I am not really into DJs or electronic music - that just sounds like noise to me so overall, I was sort of blase about the whole movie. It wasn't bad, it was just average. If you love Zac Efron, you might like it just to see him in a serious role. Otherwise, I would say skip it.
