Runs 123 minutes

In the realm of Azeroth the humans live peacefully under the rule of their King Llane Wrynn (Dominic Cooper). But, the humans very existence is at risk when the evil Orc sorcerer opens a portal from their dying world and the Orcs invade the humans to take over their land. Led by Lothar (Travis Fimmel), the humans must fight the Orcs with help from a captured half breed Garona (Paula Patton) and the magic of Medivh (Ben Foster), their Guardian. Will the humans be able to outsmart the Orcs and close the portal before all of the Horde can make it through or will the humans be overrun by the Orcs?

Ok - I have never played a video game and I don't know anyting about the one on which this movie is based. But, that didn't matter at all. I actually liked this movie much more than I expected. I guess I figured this would be a loud, violent movie with no real plot. It was loud and violent. But, there were surprising moments of tenderness and I actually cared what happened to the characters. The CGI was amazing. I saw it in IMAX 3D and I was impressed. The Orcs were huge compared to the humans. And, there was so much attention to detail - the piercings, the weapons, the gorgeous, huge animals. I'm still amazed by the Orc's mouths. They looked so realistic, with those giant teeth. Anyway, if it does well, they have set it up perfectly for a sequel. Again, I was pleasantly surprised by this film. It was stunning to look at and I thought everyone did a nice job. If you are a fan of the video game or like a good action/adventure movie, this might be for you. Go see it.
