Jill's Review

Opens February 7, 2014 in Dallas

Runs 104 minutes

This movie tells the story of Rose, a Dhampir (half-human, half-vampire guardian) and Lissa, a Moroi (a peaceful, mortal vampire).  For the past year they have been on the run from their past but are soon caught and taken back to St. Vladamirs Academy.  Lissa is a royal vampire princess and Rose is her personal guardian. Once back at the Vampire Academy, they must tackle the normal high school perils, as well as threats from the outside world, the Strigoi (evil vampires).  While in the outside world, Rose and Lissa became telepathically bonded, which alerts Rose whenever Lissa needs her. Together, they learn to accept their places in Vampire society and face down the evil Strigoi plot against them.

The movie is not bad.  It has plenty of humor and inside jokes about vampires.  Everyone is very attractive and the light banter and tone make it more enjoyable than it might otherwise have been. An average movie-going experience.
