Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) is in a rut. His wife Debbie (Christina Applegate) is bored and his sons James (Skyler Gisondo) and Kevin (Steele Stebbins) just bicker and fight. He decides that a cross country driving trip to Walley World is just what the family needs to rejuvenate and reconnect with each other. Rusty remembers his family trip to Walley World as the bast vacation he ever took. Things don't turn out quite the way he expects on this vacation.

I really wanted to like this movie. Just like Rusty, I have fond memories of the original Vacation movie. This one, not so much. I love Ed Helms and Christina Applegate but they just don't have enough to work with to make this funny. There are funny parts but not enough of them. And, it is such a hard R rating. The language is terrible. The younger brother is extremely abusive to his older brother and has a very foul mouth. These things just aren't funny. They should have made it PG-13 - it probably would have been funnier. There is a cameo by Chevy Chase late in the film and a few other people. Nothing great. My favorite thing was at the very beginning when they were showing random family vacation photos that went a little wrong. Those were funny. I would say if you see this, see it at the cheapest matinee or just skip it altogether.
