Adelaide (Lupita Nyong'o) and her family take a trip to Santa Cruz to stay in her family's old summer home. Her husband Gabe (Winston Duke) and their kids Zora (Shahadi Wright Joseph) and Jason (Evan Alex) want to spend the day at the beach with their family friends Kitty (Elizabeth Moss) and Josh (Tim Heidecker) and their kids. They don't understand why Adelaide is so hesitant to spend the day at the beach. She relents and they head to the beach. Everything is fine until Jason wanders off. Once they find him, Adelaide is ready to head back to the house. But, that is when the real problems start. It appears that there is another family that looks just like them that is intent on doing them harm. Now, the family must fight with everything they have to make it through the night.

This is Director Jordan Peele's second film. It is not quite as good as Get Out but it is still pretty good. It is more of a straight up horror film. It is intense and violent. I was nervous the entire time. I loved it! There are a few weird plot holes but the overall concept is fascinating and keeps you guessing. Lupita Nyong'o is awesome. She makes the entire film work. I thought the kids were pretty good, too. I hope they don't have nightmares after making this movie! Ha!. There are plenty of scares but this movie is also really funny. This was my kind of movie. If you like horror films with a little more going on, then this might be for you. Go see it.
