Melinda (Ajiona Alexus/Taraji P. Henson) is a nice girl, trying to please her Mother and get her college degree. One rainy day, she literally bumps into Robert (Antonio Madison) on campus. Before she knows it, they are an item. But, when she discovers that he is cheating on her, she delivers a harsh punishment then takes him back against the objections of her entire family. When her Mother passes and leaves Melinda the house and some money, she sees no reason to wait to wed. But, Robert does not live up to his promises. He continues to work on an invention that he swears will deliver one day, spending what little money they have. Melinda works two jobs just to keep them afloat. She would be happy if Robert would just get a simple job. To her dismay, Robert just can't seem to live up to her expectations. Then, Melinda is faced with a betrayal that she cannot overcome. Slowly, it appears that Melinda may be slipping into madness. Can their relationship be saved or will Melinda be forced to resort to more drastic measures to ensure her happiness??

Let's see.. This movie will never win any awards but it was a blast to watch. Taraji P. Henson steals the movie. She just eats up every scene she is in and is totally believable as she descends into madness. It was fun to watch it in a crowded theatre because the audience reaction to various scenes was hilarious. People were talking back to the screen and just laughing out loud. Again, this is not an Oscar movie but it is fun entertainment. The Husband and I laughed and talked back along with everyone else. I thought this was slightly better than Tyler Perry's last few films. I am very burned out on Madea. The cast was fine. Everyone did a good job. Lyriq Bent as the older Robert actually ended up being sympathetic - something I would not have believed based on the first half of the film. If you are looking for a fun time, go see this with a group of friends. Be prepared to groan and laugh. But, just let yourself go and have a fun time.
