Tim Jenison is a Texas based inventor who has always been interested in the painter Johannes Vermeer ("Girl with the Pearl Earring").  He has always felt that Vermeer's paintings seemed almost like photographs, well before photography had even been invented.  Tim sets out to discover the secret to Vermeer's realistic paintings.  His epic adventure to recreate a Vermeer painting is fascinating and amazing.

This movie is much more interesting and funny than you would think.  As Tim describes it himself, it is kind of like watching paint dry.  But, you can't help but be amazed by what he discovers.  If you like documentaries, this is a good one.
