Runs 81 minutes

Isaac (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Matthews (John Cena) are soldiers in Iraq at the end of the war. They have been called in to provide cover at a contracting site and find all of the contractors and their security dead. After 20 long hours, they decide that the area is safe and Matthews moves in to check everything out. It turns out that the enemy sniper is not gone and soon Matthews is shot and face down in the sand. Isaac runs to help his buddy and is soon pinned behind a flimsy wall. Now, Isaac must use all of his skill to try to stay alive until help arrives. Only the sniper has other ideas and hacks into his radio and wants to have a conversation with Isaac. Can Isaac maintain his cool and keep the enemy engaged until the evacuation team arrives?

This movie was action-packed from the very beginning. There is no build-up, the soldiers are just thrust into action. Aaron Taylor-Johnson carries the film. He bleeds and sweats and gets covered with sand as he tries everything to raise command on the radio to come and evacuate them. Only, he gets the terrorist in his ear instead. His friend is face down in the sand with no cover. Isaac is thirsty, bleeding and exhausted. He uses everything at his disposal to try to flush out the terrorist and to let the rescue team know where he is. The whole movie is full of tension and dread. Directed by Doug Liman, there is no wasted minute in this film. It leaves you a little stressed at the end. The Husband and I weren't sure where it was headed but there was an interesting little twist at the end. Not a feel-good movie. You feel like you are embedded with these soldiers. Up close and personal. Really good film. Go see it.
