A single mom (Kathryn Hahn) sends her kids to stay with her estranged parents for a week so she can spend some time with her boyfriend. Becca (Olivia DeJonge) and Tyler (Ed Oxenbould) are happy to give their Mom some space for a week. Nana (Deanna Dunagan) and Pop Pop (Peter McRobbie) are excited to be able to finally spend some time with their grandkids. Everything is great until things begin to go bump in the night and the grandparents start to act like possessed crazy people. Will Becca and Tyler make it through an entire week with their crazy grandparents?

This is M. Night Shyamalan's most recent movie. And, his best in a long time. It is not really scary but it is VERY funny. There are some scenes that will make you jump and you will definitely be thinking "don't go in the basement, you idiots" but overall the movie is just a whole lot of fun. The kid actors are just hilarious. Becca is filming a documentary of her experience at her grandparents, so there is some shaky camera work, but it is done in a way that it is not too annoying. It must have been really in tune with my sense of humor because I was laughing out loud. I found this movie to be entertaining and fairly original. There is the trademark twist, but that is almost irrelevant with all of the other crazy stuff going on. If you like horror/suspense coupled with sly (and laugh out loud) humor, then this is for you. Go see it!
