Frank Martin (same name, new actor Ed Skrein), a former special ops mercenary, now drives special "packages" for big payouts. His Dad, Frank Sr. (Ray Stevenson), drops by for a weekend visit, just as Junior is hired by the gorgeous Anna (Loan Chabanol) for a questionable transport. Suddenly, Frank Sr. is kidnapped by Anna's seductive cohorts in order to keep Frank Jr. in line as they orchestrate the takedown of a Russian kingpin for old sins he committed against them. Frank must maintain his wits and driving skills as he helps Anna and her gang and tries to make sure his father survives the ordeal.
Since I am kinda in love with the old Transporter Jason Statham (yes - the Husband knows all about it), this wasn't quite as good as the original. But, it was fast-paced and it did have a story line. Ray Stevenson was pretty humorous as the Dad. He kept everything a little light and funny. I was entertained. The scenery was gorgeous and Ed Skrein wasn't too bad to look at. So, overall, an average action movie. Worth a matinee.
