Runs 87 minutes

Nancy (Blake Lively) is a Med student who is at a crossroads about her future. Her Mother has just passed away and she isn't sure that she wants to continue on to become a Doctor. She decides to take a surfing trip to the secluded magical island where her Mother traveled when she was pregnant with Nancy. She figures some alone time in the surf will do her good and clear her head. Little does she know that a great white shark will slightly alter her plans. Trapped about 200 yards from shore and badly injured, Nancy must fight for her life using every skill she possesses to outwit an angry and wounded shark bent on having Nancy for his next meal. Alone and desperate, can Nancy outlast the shark?

This movie is ony 87 minutes long and it is non-stop tension for about 80 of those minutes. I loved every minute! The Husband liked it (especially Blake Lively in a bikini - but as he said, that bikini would have ripped off early in the struggle - Ha!) and WH had her face covered for a lot of the movie - at least all of the shark action! It was definitely gory in parts, lots of blood. Apparently, Blake did a lot of the surfing herself and she did a great, physical job. She is pretty and athletic. This movie is basically Blake trying to outwit a shark for the whole movie. But, it keeps you on the edge of your seat and if you have a beach vacation planned any time soon, you might be rethinking doing any surfing! There is very little bad language but the stress level is high. I would NOT take the kids. If you love a good scare, then this is for you! Go see it.
