Runs 92 minutes

Gavin Stone (Brett Dalton) is a washed up child actor in trouble again for trashing a hotel rooftop at an out-of-control party. Already in and out of rehab, he is sentenced to community service at a mega Bible Church in his hometown. He reluctantly moves back in with his estranged father (Neil Flynn) and shows up to perform his maintenance tasks, as assigned. Only he discovers that the church is putting on its annual Biblical play and acting sounds way better than cleaning the bathrooms. He claims to be a Christian and is immediately cast as Jesus. It doesn't hurt that the play is being directed by the cute, single Preacher's daughter Kelly (Anjelah Johnson-Reyes). When Hollywood comes calling again, will Gavin stick to his commitment to the Church or will he return to his Hollywood ways?

I loved this movie. Yes, you can see where this is headed from the very beginning. But, the acting is great and the story is genuinely funny. All of the supporting actors are really entertaining and amusing. So, it is enjoyable until the end. I laughed out loud and had tears in my eyes. I thought the spiritual side of the movie was perfect. The play was about the life of Jesus so there were plenty of Biblical references. But, it wasn't in your face or uncomfortable. Anyone should be able to enjoy this light movie. Perfect for the whole family. Go see it!!
