A group of friends are gathered for a wedding when the end times begin. People are raptured and the rest are left behind to deal with the apocalypse all around them. They are forced to re-examine their lives and their faith while they scramble to survive. Is it too late for redemption?
This movie is being marketed as a faith-based horror/rapture movie. The only name actress is Alexa Vega (all grown up from the Spy Kids movies). I always want to like these movies because I think we need more faith-based films, but this one just isn't that great. They hope to get crossover fans that might be drawn to the horror element, but it just isn't that scary. The people pray and they do read a few verses from Revelation to help explain what is happeneing for the non-believers, but the rest of the movie is too chaotic. The message is good: either choose God or try to fight for survival, but that gets lost in the rest of the muddled message. And, I'm still not sure what the flying, serpent-like, stab you in the back creatures were all about. I guess I better get out my Bible. You won't miss much if you skip this one.
