Runs 105 minutes

Two years after the last Purge, Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) is now the head of security for Senator Charlene "Charlie" Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell). She is running for President and her platform is to do away with the Purge, as it is being used as a tool to eliminate the poorest and weakest in society. On the other side is Minister Edwidge Owens (Kyle Secor), head of the NFFA (the New Founding Fathers) who thinks the Purge is necessary to keep society balanced and government costs down. On Purge night, Charlie decides she needs to stay in her own home to set an example. Leo fortifies her home, but someone betrays them and sends Charlie and Leo out on the streets. As Leo works to protect Charlie, others want to capture her and sacrifice her for the good of the Nation. Can Leo, with the help of a ragtag group of citizens, protect Charlie until dawn and bring about a new order for the Country?

Ok. I kinda liked this one. I thought the first Purge movie was great. The second one was below average. This one steps up the game using the election year as the backdrop. Very relevant. I thought Frank Grillo was great - tough and no nonsense. Elizabeth Mitchell was sincere as the Senator running for President to end the Purge. But, she still hasn't learned from the past and makes stupid decisions regarding her safety. I liked the rest of the cast. They provided people to root for and some of the lighter moments. The end was definitely over the top. But, I thought this was a solid installment. If you liked the first Purge film, then you should like this one. Fun, a little violent and a little relevant considering this is an Election Year.
