Zak (Zack Gottsagen) has Down Syndrome and is left to live in an assisted living facility with the elderly. His roommate Carl (Bruce Dern) is a little cranky and tired of watching Zak's wrestling videos. You see, Zak's dream is to become a pro wrestler like his idol "The Salt Water Redneck", Clint (Thomas Haden Church). With the help of Carl, Zak makes his escape and hits the road to fulfill his dream. Soon, he meets Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), another down on his luck young man trying to escape his past. Together, they make a plan and Tyler tries to help Zak live out his dream. They train together, drink a little whiskey and join up with Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), the nursing home employee tasked with bringing Zak back home. Instead, they track down The Salt Water Redneck so that Zak can fulfill his destiny, at last.

The Husband and I loved this movie. It is funny and sweet and heartfelt. It is great for the whole family. It will make you laugh and cry. Zack, a real down syndrome kid, is perfect in this role. He holds his own against Shia LaBeouf for the whole film. He is funny and endearing. There are plenty of scenes that could have made fun of him but instead they made him out to be the real person that he is. Shia LaBeouf is fantastic in this movie. He is such a great actor. But, he doesn't overshadow Zack. He is generous and funny and just so good. This movie will make you smile and keep you smiling as you leave the theatre. Go see it!!
