Yo-Yo Ma was a child prodigy and is now an internationally famous cellist. Thinking back, he never really decided to be a Musician, it just happened because that is what he was so good at. In order to keep life interesting he formed the Silk Road Project together with other musicians from many countries. Featured in this film are: Kinan Azmeh (Syria), Kayhan Kalhor (Iran), Cristina Pato (Spain) and Wu Man (China). Together, they travel and perform all kinds of music for people around the world. This film highlights different philosophies and cultures and reflects how music can bring all people together.

This film is a joyous expression of music. Each featured artist is interviewed and we learn a little about them and their culture. I found that to be the most interesting part of the film. It was fascinating to go home with these people to see how they live. Even though each and every one of them is from a different country, the music unites them all. This film is happy and energetic, with fabulous music. If you like documentaries, then this might be one for you. Entertaining and informative with no agenda but to bring music to the people.
