Earl Stone (Clint Eastwood) is estranged from his family and facing foreclosure on his home and business. Someone tells him about an opportunity to drive across the country and earn money doing it. Earl doesn't have many options at 90 years old and agrees to make the drive on a "one-time only" basis. Of course, the money is too good and he continues to drive for a dangerous Mexican drug cartel. Meanwhile, the DEA has their sights set on stopping this cartel from bringing drugs into Illinois. Agent Bates (Bradley Cooper) has them in his sights and determines that the best way to stop them is to stop their "Mule". Earl never even realizes that he is caught in the middle of their operation until it is too late.

This movie is loosely based on a true story and it is pretty good. Clint Eastwood is perfect as the 90 year-old with nothing left to lose that agrees to start driving drugs across the country. The money is just too good to turn down. He is able to help pay for his granddaughter's wedding, buy a new truck and get his farm out of foreclosure. The only problem is that it is all illegal. The cast is all great - especially Dianne Wiest as his bitter ex-wife. She really lets him have it. There is plenty of suspense and even some touching family moments. Definitely worth seeing so go see it!
