Claire (Catherine Frot) lives a quiet life, working as a midwife and visitng her garden. Her son Simon (Quentin Dolmaire) is grown and moving on with his life. And, the hospital where Claire works is closing its doors as a new more modern facility (or baby factory, as Claire sees it) is about to open. If that isn't enough, her life is turned upside down when she receives a call out of the blue from Beatrice (Catherine Deneuve), her father's old mistress. Beatrice has led an unusual life full of drinking, gambllng and lack of commitment. Now, It seems that Beatrice is suffering from brain cancer and has no one else to turn to in her time of need. Claire has no choice but to let Beatrice back into her life once again.

This is a nice French drama. The acting is excellent. These two women are great together. Catherine Deneuve still has amazing screen presence. And, even when you don't really like her character, you still feel drawn to her and sorry for her. Take your mom or your sister for a nice afternoon at the movies. Overall, a decent film starring two of France's best actresses going toe-to-toe.
