Jill's Review

Opens July 15, 2017

Runs 90 minutes

It is the 1600's and a young man named Massetto (Dave Franco) is fleeing from an evil master. He is taken into a nunnery by Father Tommasso (John C. Reilly) and told to pretend to be deaf and mute so that he can remain at the convent. Of course, the nuns are immediately smitten with him. Alessandra (Alison Brie), Ginerva (Kate Micucci) and Fernanda (Aubrey Plaza) are soon sneaking around behind Sister Marea's (Molly Shannon) back to sleep with Massetto. When Bishop Bartolomeo (Fred Armisen) arrives everything comes to a head when he realizes what is going on.

I'm not going to waste much time on this one. It was not funny. It was just raunchy. The cast was great so I thought it might have some redeeming qualities. Or at least be a subversive little comedy. Not really. Just not funny, almost exploitative. It is short so at least it didn't go on too long. I would definitely give this one a pass.
