Runs 118 minutes

Mufasa (James Earl Jones) rules the kingdom. He is excited to introduce his young son and heir, Simba (J.D. McCrary/Donald Glover), to his followers. When Mufasa is murdered, his brother Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor) convinces Simba that his father's death is his fault and he must run far away to avoid the shame. Simba heads out on a journey of self-discovery. He meets many interesting characters along the way. Pumbaa (Seth Rogen) and Timon (Bily Eichner) teach him to enjoy his surroundings, constantly singing Hakuna Matata - No worries. He lives a carefee life until his childhood friend Nala (Beyonce) finds him and convinces him that it is time to assume his rightful place in the kingdom.

I loved this movie. I love animals and I thought the animals were gorgeous. (I want a baby lion cub!) The scenery is breathtaking. The whole film is just beautiful to look at. The music and songs are fantastic. You will recognize most of them from the original animated version. The voice work is really good. Particularly, Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner who add a lot of humor and fun to the whole movie. My only quibble is with Beyonce. Obviously, her singing voice is wonderful but her voice acting was not quite up to par with everyone else. Not terrible, just a little weak. It doesn't detract from the overall greatness of the movie. So, go see it now.
