Robert Downey Jr. is Hank Palmer, a big-city lawyer who is summoned home when his Mother passes away. He may be a successful lawyer, but his home life is a mess and his relationship with his father, the hometown Judge (Robert Duvall) has been non-existent since he left for college. Hank plans to attend the funeral and then get back out of town as fast as possible. Of course, his plans change when the Judge is accused of murder and Hank is determined to represent him. Old resentments resurface and family secrets are revealed. An old flame (Vera Farmiga) is rekindled. Along the way, Hank is able to reconnect with his family.

This is a very entertaining movie. Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall are both fabulous. It is so fun to watch them trade barbs with each other. In the end it is all about family. This movie is funny, touching and suspenseful. Go see it!
