The final installment of this franchise picks up right where the last one left off. The dragon is loose and threatening the townspeople. Gandolf is still being held captive. The dwarves are trying to protect the mountain with help from the Elves. And, the Orcs are moving in for battle to take the mountain and it's treasure. War is looming and as the armies prepare for Battle, all of Middle Earth is at risk.
I actually liked this last installment. From the title, you can tell that there will be big battle scenes and there are. Lots and lots of CGI. I thought it was well-done and the movie felt very epic. The armies of people just keep coming and coming. There are giants and all kinds of Orcs. There is a lot of what they call fantasy action violence. But, there are human moments, too. Relationships are resumed. There are even some tears as not everyone makes it out of the Battle alive. The ending was a nice touch, too. Overall, I liked the movie and if you have seen the others, go see it!!
