Runs 103 minutes

William (Matt Damon) and his crew have been roaming China in search of the mysterious black powder that lights up the night. They hope to find some and sell it. Only, their party has been reduced by marauding bandits and soon it is just William and a few others. That is until they are attacked by an evil creature. William and Tovar (Pedro Pascal) survive, grab up the weird, scaly claw that is left behind and hit the trail. Soon, they are captured by the army protecting the Great Wall. The only reason they are allowed to live is because they have faced the beast and survived. Now, the evil creatures are back to attack the Wall. William and Tovar don't want to be heroes, but soon they must fight for their lives. Can these evil beasts be stopped before all is lost?

Ok - I am being generous with a 3 Star rating because the movie was beautiful to look at. The costuming and the action scenes were great and well-filmed. But, the movie was a grand, epic, sweeping cinematic snooze-fest. The screenplay and the dialogue were pretty lame. At the beginning it does state that the Great Wall was built for many reasons, both real and legendary and this was one of the legends. Duh! Never heard about the green mysterious lizards that tried to destroy the Chinese. Anyway, I didn't really like this film. I like Matt Damon but he didn't add much to the overall story. I suppose it will still make a bunch of money in China but I can't see it being a blockbuster in the U.S. I guess we'll see. I would take a pass on this one.
