Jill's Review

Opens October 3, 2014

Runs 110 minutes

This movie follows a group of Sudanese refugees as they escape their war torn country and travel to a new life in America. Reese Witherspoon is Carrie, the job placement specialist in charge of finding jobs for the refugees. Eventually, she gets more involved in their lives than she had ever planned.

This is an eye-opening movie. You can really see firsthand what these poor child refugees had to go through just to escape to a better life. And, their introduction to life in America is not all easy. It is quite an adjustment for them. Some of the characters are played by real Sudanese refugees. They are really great! The film is very touching, often funny and well worth seeing. Stay for the credits to learn a little more about a few of the actors. Go see it!
