This is a PIXAR animated film that pretends the giant asteroid that hit the Earth and wiped out the dinosaurs never happened. Instead, dinosaurs go on to rule the Earth, becoming farmers and hunters and other things. Humans are "critters" that are mainly avoided. Arlo is a young and timid Apatosaurus working the farm with his parents and siblings. One day tragedy strikes and Arlo's Father is killed. Then, Arlo is accidentally separated from his family. He forms an unlikey connection with a small human critter, Spot and together they work to get Arlo back to his family and learn the true meaning of friendship along the way.

This is such a sweet film. It is getting hit a little hard by the critics because it has such a simple plot. This movie is not Inside/Out. But, who cares. It is cute and beautifully filmed. The animation is great. Spot is so adorable as a human critter with puppy-like tendencies. And, the friendship between Arlo and Spot is just like a boy and his loyal dog. I really liked it. I thought it was touching and enjoyable. The kids will love it so just go along and enjoy it for what it is - a sweet film of facing your fears and learning the true meaning of friendship and family. Go see it.
