Runs 120 minutes

In 18th century England, Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) rules the kingdom, although she is weak and suffers from several different ailments. The English and French are at war and the Queen can barely keep up with her advisors. She relies heavily on Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) to help her run the kingdom. Sarah takes full advantage of her position, making sure that her decisions benefit her and her husband who leads the military charge. When Abigail (Emma Stone), a distant relative, shows up looking for employment, Sarah takes her under her wing. Little did she know that Abigail would befriend the Queen and soon become her closest confidante. Palace intrigue ensues and soon Sarah realizes that Abigail will stop at nothing to fulfill her ambitions.

The Husband and I loved this movie. Our only complaint was the ending. It was so abrupt. We were hoping for just a little more. But, in the end I think everyone got what they deserved. The acting is phenomenal. I would expect this movie to have several Oscar nominations. All of the women leads were so good. The dialogue was cutting and very funny. Olivia Colman is so good as the crazy Queen. She even makes you feel sorry for her. You see, she has lost 17 children over the years and now all she has is 17 rabbits for company. Very sad. Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone were both amazing as the rivals for the Queen's attention. We laughed a lot. All of the lines seemed so quick-witted. There is a bit of nudity and some very coarse language so be prepared. But, it is such a fun movie. Go see it.
