Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld) is almost seventeen and feeling awkward and undateable. Luckily, her best friend Krista (Haley Lu Richardson) has always had her back. That is until Krista starts dating Darian (Blake Jenner) Nadine's popular and perfect older brother. With no one to talk to, she bares her soul to her teacher Mr. Bruner (Woody Harrelson). Hilariously, he has no idea what to do with a seventeen year old girl in full freak out mode. Fortunately, even when things seem to be at their absolute worst, there is always a little light at the end of the tunnel.

I loved this movie. It was funny, heartfelt and touching. You could commiserate with Nadine in all of her awkwardness and laugh at the same time. I thought Hailee Steinfeld was fantastic. Woody Harrelson was a hoot as her teacher. This movie takes you right back to high school. It is an excellent coming-of-age film. There are some nice lessons for teens without being preachy. Well worth the time. Go see it.
