Run 122 minutes

Picking up where Insurgent left off, Tris (Shailene Woodley) and her crew are confused by what they have learned about their life until now and soon realize that they must leave Chicago and venture outside the wall. Tris, Four (Theo James), Christina (Zoe Kravitz), Peter (Miles Teller), Caleb (Ansel Elgort and Tori (Maggie Q) set off to discover what is beyond the wall in an attempt to help save all of their people. What they find is not what they expected. The presumed leader on the outside, David (Jeff Daniels) welcomes Tris and her group and is soon using Tris for his own purposes. Meanwhile, back home tempers are flaring and a battle for control is escalating. And, Peter is up to some of his old tricks again. Will Tris and her group enlist the help they need to save their loved ones before it is too late?

I thought this movie was pretty good. If you have been watching the series, this is definitely the weakest sequel to date. But, if you are invested in the characters, then it is worth seeing to follow the build-up to the Final episode. This sequel mostly focuses on Tris and her team and their shockng discoveries outside the wall. We see some of the escalation back in Chicago as different factions fight for control. And we witness Peter's divided loyalties again. They could end the series here if they wanted. There is no huge cliffhanger. But, if you have read the books, then you know there is still a little more to come. If you like the series, you should see this. Otherwise, a decent film but nothing spectacular.
