Runs 95 minutes

Roland (Idris Elba) is the last of the Gunslingers, protecting the universe from the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey). You see the Man in Black wants to destroy the dark tower at the center of the universe that keeps his evil at bay. Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor) has the "Shine" - a psychic ability. He can see into the universe and knows that something is amiss. The Man in Black sends his minions to kidnap Jake. It seems that it has been prophesied that a "child" will eventually bring the dark tower down. The Man in Black has been kidnapping children with the "shine", hoping that one will be the child in the prophesy. Can Roland team up with Jake to stop the Man in Black before it is too late?

Yawn. This movie was not that great. It was only 95 minutes and it still felt long and slow. The Husband and I were not very impresssed with this film. Idris Elba was good and Tom Taylor who plays Jake did a good job but the movie just seemed poorly written. It looked ok. The fight scenes were good. But, overall, it was too dull. Matthew McConaughey, who I normally love, didn't do it for me in this film. He wasn't evil enough. He was like a magic wizard or something. Not pure evil. Anyway, I would say skip this one. If you do decide to see it, see a matinee and save as much money as possible.
