Runs 118 minutes

Arlen (Suki Waterhouse) is sent to a monstrous prison in the barren wastelands of Texas. There are no cells or guards, only miles of desert and a cannibal tribe that must be avoided at all costs. Of course, she is immediately captured by the tribe and soon loses an arm and a leg. The cannibals have to eat. Luckily, she manages to escape before she loses any other body parts and ends up in Comfort, the only other civilization behind the barbed wire. Still, she can't help but wander into the desert for some reason and runs into a woman and a young girl. She kills the woman and takes the girl back to Comfort. Not a good idea. The girl is the daughter of the Miami Man (Jason Momoa), the leader of the cannibals. And, he will stop at nothing to get her back.

This film is billed as a romance/sci-fi. Don't ask me why. There are no sci-fi elements whatsover. There are gory cannibals. Romance? Ha! Anyway, the idea of the film was interesting. It could have been a decent film. The cast also includes Keanu Reeves, Giovanni Ribisi and an unrecognizable Jim Carrey. Not bad. And, the idea of an unlawful, dystopian wasteland where prisoners are just dropped off and forced to fend for themselves could have made for an interesting movie. Just not this one. This was really slow. Arlen just wanders around the desert (don't ask me why). There is very little dialogue and no explanatin for anything that is going on. Not worth the price of admission. Skip it.
