Aliens have invaded Earth. They are slowly taking control through waves of natural disasters and diseases, among other things. The 5th Wave will eradicate the rest of human kind. Most of the children have been rounded up on Army bases to be trained for combat. Cassie (Chloe Grace Moretz) got separated from her brother Sam (Zackary Arthur) and is determined to find him. With the help of Evan Walker (Alex Roe), she navigates the dangerous landscape to reunite with her brother while trying to stay one step ahead of the alien invaders.

This movie is not getting a lot of love from the critics. It isn't that bad. It is a movie for young people. So, that is what you should expect. Chloe Grace Moretz always does a good job. And Liev Schreiber and Maria Bello chew up a little scenery. I thought it was entertaining and the kids in the audience with me seemed to like it. It is the first in a trilogy so we'll see if the other two films get off the ground. But, as for this one, if you have kids, it's not a bad movie to see with them.
