Runs 94 minutes

This is the true story of three American heroes who stopped a terror attack aboard a train bound for Paris in 2015. The film stars the actual men - Alek Scarlatos, Anthony Sadler and Spencer Stone. It follows them from a young age, as they meet and become friends and as they grow older and try to find their places in life. All the while, they maintained their friendship. Luckily, for the 500 people aboard this train, they were brave and courageous. They never wavered. They jumped into action, thwarting the terrorist and actually saving the life of one of the injured passengers. Eventually, they were awarded the Legion of Honor medal from the President of France.

This is a great story. However, it is not a great film. It is directed by Clint Eastwood, so I had high expectations. I thought the three actual men did a fine job. The actors who portrayed them as kids, not so much. There was too much time spent on the back story, with only a few flash forwards to the actual event. The portion on the train, which was the most exciting part, only lasted a few minutes. The whole story was told from the three heroes point of view, which is fine. But, it left the Husband and I wanting to know more about the terrorist. How did he end up on this train with almost 300 rounds of ammunition? The script seemed to be lacking. And, it would have been nice to have a little follow-up about what these three heroes are doing today. Anyway, this is a really great story about heroism and courage. The movie doesn't do the story justice. So, it isn't terrible, it could just be a whole lot better.
