Anna Kendrick is Eloise, the former Maid of Honor for her long time friend Francie (Rya Meyers) who gets demoted to Table 19 when she is unceremoniously dumped by the brother of the bride Teddy (Wyatt Russell) via text message. She, along with all of the other "Randoms", is assigned to the worst table in the room. There, she ends up with Renzo (Tony Revolori), the high-schooler whose Mom thought he would have better luck at a wedding than his own junior Prom, the Kepps (Lisa Kudrow and Craig Robinson), a long-married couple with differing reasons for attending, cousin Walter (Stephen Merchant) just out of prison and Jo (June Squibb), the bride's first Nanny. Slowly, everyone's inner secrets boil to the surface and Eloise learns a little about friendship and maybe even love from this table of strangers.

This movie is very cute. In fact, the Husband and I really liked it. We laughed out loud and even got a little sentimental. There is a cake mishap, a wedding crasher and even a drunk Mother of the Bride. But, the story still felt fresh and funny. Stephen Merchant stole the show. He was just too funny. (His halfway house roommate Jalapeno is a riot in two tiny scenes). And, the running gag with the maroon blazer that accidentally matched the catering uniforms was hilarious. Anna Kendrick can make any movie better than it should be and she really does a fine job in this one. She's a little bitter and angry, but underneath she just wants what everyone wants - to be loved. Silly, funny and endearing. This is a fine date movie. Go see it!
