Runs 95 minutes

This is the inspiring, true story of Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger (Tom Hanks), the pilot responsible for the "Miracle on the Hudson". In January 2009, after a routine takeoff, Sully's plane was hit by a birdstrike disabling both engines. Sully and co-pilot Jeff Skiles (Aaron Eckhart) had to make a life or death decision and with nowhere else to go, they had to land the plane on the Hudson River, saving all 155 people aboard. While he was hailed a hero across the Nation, behind the scenes the NTSB was investigating his decision and the outcome could affect Sully's future career and reputation.

I loved this movie. I thought Tom Hanks was great as the quiet and unassuming Sully. I didn't even realize that there was such an intense investigation into Sully's decision to land in the river. I guess the airline and the insurance company were just looking for someone to blame. Anyway, this is a truly inspiring story. New York City was a fine backdrop. It was nice to see the Ferry and the Coast Guard and the NYFD all come together to help rescue all of the passengers from the river in only 20 minutes. These people were just as much heroes as Sully and his crew. I was amazed at how calm everyone remained and how everyone worked to help each other. It was so refreshing to see such teamwork. I highly recommend this film. Go see it!
