Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) begins his career in smuggling trying to get enough money to buy his own ship and rescue his girlfriend Qi'ra (Emilia Clarke). He ends up on a daring heist, working for Beckett (Woody Harrelson). On his adventure, he meets up with Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) and Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover). He even finally gets his own ship - the Millennium Falcon, in a very unusual way. All of this happens long before he joins the rebellion.

This is a nice, stand-alone film in the Star Wars saga. If you are a huge fan, you will probably find several hidden nuggets that advance the saga. For me, I thought it was light and fun. It answers some questions like - how did Han Solo get his name? and how did he get his space ship? We meet Chewbacca for the first time and the ending definitely ties the film to the next step in Han Solo's journey. I thought Alden Ehrenreich was just fine. He has charisma and boyish charm. He held his own against memories of Harrison Ford. So, it should be satisfying to both serious fans and casual fans, like me. If you've seen the other Star Wars films, then you should see this one. Go see it!
