Runs 106 Minutes

It is 1985 in Dublin and 15 year old Cosmo/Connor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) has a troubled family life. His parents are struggling financially and are constantly bickering. He is forced to change schools to save money and it is difficult to make friends. When he runs into Raphina (Lucy Boynton) he is smitten and immediately decides to form a band to impress the girl. He rounds up a group of misfits and together they write songs and make music videos. They even perform at Prom. Will all of this help him win the heart of his girl?

I loved this movie. It is funny and sweet and nostalgic. It has so much heart and soul. And, the music is terrific. The boys in the band sing original songs and they are so catchy. It really made me want to go out and get the soundtrack. It will definitely bring back memories from the 80's if you can remember that far back - maybe even memories of your first crush. The costumes were hilarious (think Boy George and the Village People) and the music videos that they made were so funny. I highly recommend this film. It will make you laugh and want to sing along. So fun! Go see it!
