Runs 128 minutes

This is the epic story of a most important time in Martin Luther King's (David Oyelowo) fight for equal rights. The movie covers the Marches from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama that finally lead to Lyndon Johnson's (Tom Wilkinson) signing of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. It is an in depth and personal look at the people involved in securing these rights for African Americans and how Martin Luther King's influence drove everyone. The movie doesn't flinch from some of his personal issues but that only lets the viewer see the human side of this equal rights pioneer.

This feels like an epic movie. David Oyelowo does a fantastic job as MLK. He is human, humble and a man of God. He deserves all of the accolades that he is receiving. The movie is a little long and some of the depictions of LBJ are not exactly accurate but this is not a documentary.  This is a drama that draws you in from beginning to end. This is a slice of history that we should never let ourselves forget. MLK was a great leader and man of God and the movie is well worth the price of admission. Everyone in the theatre seemed to really respond to this movie. Go see it.
