Liam Neeson is Jimmy Conlon, the "Gravedigger". He is a hitman for mob boss Sean Maguire (Ed Harris) his longtime friend.  When Sean's son is killed, Jimmy's son Mike (Joel Kinnaman) is targeted by the mob in retaliation. Jimmy must resist his loyalty to Sean and protect his son at all cost. Of course, this means thwarting corrupt cops, a crazy hitman and the mob over a very long night. Who will survive the blood bath?

This is a slightly above average film. Liam is great as the Gravedigger and Ed Harris is good as a cold blooded mob boss. The movie is just so dark. There is no humor or light moment. It is so serious. I guess after seeing the trailer, I shouldn't have expected any different. Anyway, the acting is great and the story is good. If you like mob movies and Liam Neeson, you will probably like this. Just don't expect any sunshine and butterflies.
