Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) is forced back to work developing a weapon for the Empire and is separated from his daughter Jyn (Felicitry Jones). Jyn is raised by Saw Gerrara (Forest Whitaker) and lives under the radar. She is drawn to help the Rebels when a hologram of her father is smuggled out by Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed) a pilot for the Empire. Soon, she and Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) are leading a group of rebels against the Empire to steal the plans for the Death Star. They must stop the Empire before they are all taken out by this dangerous weapon.

I have to admit that I really liked this movie. It doesn't matter if you are a huge Star Wars fan or not, this is a film that stands on its own. If you are a Star Wars fanatic, you will be excited to see Darth Vader and a quick cameo of C-3PO and R2-D2. You will also be super excited for a scene that appears at the end of the fiim. Great cameo!! Never seen a Star Was film - doesn't matter. This is a great film to jump in. This film merely fills in a small blank in the Star Wars universe. The film is action packed and moves at a fast pace. But, it is really about the people involved in the rebellion. There is plenty of Star Wars action but the human element is also very evident. I really liked that about the film. It wasn't just noise and special effects - it was also about the human cost of fighting for what is right. Loved this movie. Go see it.
