In the future, OmniCorp provides robot drone technology to countries worldwide. Everywhere but the United States where this technology is still banned by Congress.  CEO of OmniCorp, Raymond Sellars (Michael Keaton) along with his head of technology, Dennett Norton (Gary Oldman) hope to change this by putting a man inside the robot and making the technology more palatable to the American people.  All they need is a test subject to put inside the suit.  Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) a Detroit detective, has just suffered a near fatal injury in the line of duty and becomes their test subject - RoboCop, a half-man/half-robot crime enforcement machine.  Initial tests are not up to par so RoboCop is re-programmed to be more machine like.  When he is finally presented to the public, he is welcomed with open arms.  Of course, his emotions begin to take back over and RoboCop turns the tables on those who have put him in this position.

This is considered a remake, but it has been updated and has very little in common with the original other than the basic concept.  It is very loud and violent, but very entertaining.  Much more fun than anticipated.  Definitely worth seeing in IMAX.
