A young girl is sent to Vet school, where her older sister is already a student. She is subjected to hazing, along with the rest of the newbies. However, young Justine (Garance Marillier) was raised a vegetarian and when she is forced to eat a raw animal kidney, a strange compulsion is awakened in her - the desire for more and more red meat, eventually the human kind.

This movie has a lot of hype. Supposedly, people fainted at some of the screenings and they were handing out barf bags. It is slightly nauseating but it isn't that over the top. (if you have seen any of the torture porn movies, like Hostel, then this is nothing more outrageous than that.) It is billed as a horror film but it is not a conventional horror film. Justine does some horrific things and there are some grisly scenes but no scares or gotcha moments that make you jump. I thought the special effects were pretty realistic. There were several scenes invoving biting (don't ask!) and I thought the wounds looked gory and real. This movie will not be for everyone but if you are a fan of horror films, then this might be something a little different for you to see. So, see it at your own risk (and take your own barf bag).
