Set in 79 A.D., Milo (Kit Harrington) a slave turned gladiator falls for Cassia (Emily Browning) the daughter of a wealthy business man. Milo must fight for his life to rescue his true love from a corrupt Roman Senator (Keifer Sutherland) who is conniving for hand in marriage.  Set amidst the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii is crumbling around them as they struggle to escape the destruction.

This was actually a decent action picture.  The fights are very well choreographed and the special effects are dazzling, especially the volcano which actually erupted in 79 A.D.  Too bad they buried this movie in February. Worth a trip to the theater on a cold night.
