This is the fifth installment in the Pirates films. In this one, everyone is searching for the Trident of Poseidon because whoever has it can end the curses of the sea. Henry Turner (Brendon Thwaites) hopes to find it to end the curse on his father Will (Orlando Bloom). Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) hopes to find it to end the curse that has left him as a dead man walking. He also hopes to get his revenge on Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) for putting him in this position in the first place. Captain Jack hopes to find it first to keep from be killed by one of his enemies. And, Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario) might just know where it is. Who will get to it first?

I think I am just about done with Captain Jack and his merry band of pirates. The first hour of this film was not very good. I enjoyed seeing Orlando Bloom back in a small cameo but other than that, the first half was a drag. The second half of the film actually picked up and was pretty entertaining, with great special effects. So, not a total bust. But, I think Johnny Depp has almost worn out his welcome as the drunk and always in trouble Captain Jack. There is a scene at the end of the credits that leads one to believe that there is still another sequel. Fun to see Keira Knightly in a cameo. Looks like she and Orlando Bloom will return for Episode 6. Hope it is a little better than this one. Maybe a matinee.
