Luciano Pavarotti was one of the greatest tenors of all time. This film follows him from his younger years up until his death. HIs father was a tenor, as well so he obviously inherited some of his talent. He met his wife performing and had three daughters. Later in life, he caused a scandal in his Catholic hometown when he divorced his wife and married a much younger woman. But, through it all, he was one of the most beloved Opera performers of his generation.

This is really a fantastic film. I am not an opera buff but even I could appreciate the immense talent that Pavarotti had. He was also a very jovial and friendly guy. Everyone loved him - including the ladies. The film glosses over a lot of his personal issues but it does address a couple of his affairs, especially the one that led to his divorce. And, there is plenty of music. There are several of his opera performances, as well as his performances with the 3 Tenors (Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras were the other two). These guys were good! Toward the end of his career he did some stadium performances with big name stars. Some people thought he was a sellout for doing this but he was still good. You don't have to love opera to enjoy this film. It is a very good documentary so go see it.
